Frederick deBorde, Sr.
Tybee Island-Frederick deBorde, Sr., 80, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
He was a native of Savannah and moved to Tybee Island over fifty years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and for over twenty seven years, a chief engineer with St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a charter member of the Fenian Society and a devoted communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where over the years he gave tirelessly of his time and services. Another charity he proudly volunteered for was Project DAWN, a provided of medical services to the citizens of Guyana. Mr. deBorde was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Sarah.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Anne deBorde of Twin City, GA; daughter, Vincent Fahey and her husband, Ed of Savannah; son, Jody deBorde and his wife, Denise of Tybee Island; sister, Sarah Counihan of Savannah; brother, David deBorde and his wife, Rosie of Savannah; grandchildren, Brian Fahey and his wife, Jennifer of Charleston, Christopher and Elizabeth deBorde of Tybee Island and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday December 15, 2006 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with the Reverend P. James Costigan, Celebrant.
Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery
